Ursa teaches individuals, bands, and workshops of all levels. He is available on skype or in person. Ursa holds the Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board (PDQB) Level 8 Certificate, the highest level certificate of it's kind, and the PDQB Teacher Certificate. He has extensive teaching experience at the Invermark College of Piping and the Piper's Dojo.
Pipe Band Workshops: Ursa is available to instruct pipe sections as well as give advice on matters of ensemble, tune selections, and harmonies; usually on an hourly or daily basis.
Individual Lessons: Ursa also teaches pipers of all levels in a one-on-one or small group format. Lessons are conducted on an hourly basis. Ursa teaches from his home studio in Clifton, and also teaches individuals when traveling for band workshops.
Group Workshops: These can include classes in a variety of piping subjects, including bagpipe maintenance, expression, technique, and solo competition (Ursa's favorite subject!). An example would be the Maine Piping & Drumming Workshop, where Ursa taught subjects covering all the aspects of improving as an individual and as a band.
Rates:
Pipe Band Workshops: $50/hour, or $250 a day (plus travel)
Individual Lessons: $30/hour
Group Workshops: (rates specific to the workshop)
